Mike's New Raptor

My buddy Mike went out and bought an 2008 Yamaha Raptor 700R. So this last weekend we took it out to the Pismo Dunes and he had a good time flogging it a bit. He gave a few of us rides on it as well.

My truck did pretty well too, much better than Ken's Jeep did although not as well as Sam's FJ-40.

Rotating Header Image

Added a new feature to the website. The header image now rotates randomly when you load new pages on the site.

Sorry to all the dial-up users as it will increase load times, but I like it.

Site Redesign

Gave the site a partial redesign. The front page got a rework with more information and new organization, and the whole site got a freshening.

New Lens

I just got a new lens for my Digital Rebel. I'm pretty excited about it. It's nothing hugely special, a Canon EF 28-135 USM.

I went to Hearst Castle with it this morning so my first pics with it will be up a bit later.

Site Update

Well I added some new functionality to the site... The post archive now allows one to view posts from the site month by month. That way it's not just a jumble of posts, and should allow people to find things quicker, especially because there's still no search functionality.

Baja Competition Photos

Photos from this year's Baja SAE competition at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology have been posted. Check em out, I took em with my new Canon Digital Rebel, and some of the shots turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

We don't have official results from the competition yet, but we don't expect that we did as well as we did last year. We got some great results on the dynamic day, including a spectacular 3rd place overall on the dynamic day and 4th and 5th place finishes in acceleration and, astonishingly enough, rock crawl (with me driving).

Anyways, I'll post some more results as I get them.
