Well today was one of those top 5 most memorable occurances in my life days... it was absolutely incredible... due to ties with an alumni of Cal Poly Alois Ruf, chief of Ruf Automobiles, came to speak at Cal Poly today. He brought along with him an original prototype CTR1 and a CTR2 and a Turbo R (the CTR2 and the Turbo R were owned by friends of his). I got to get real close up to the cars and they were spectacularly beautiful. If you look at the gallery of them you can see the picture we snuck where a fiend and I touched the a gasket on the back of the CTR1. We had to get proof that we were there and we touched them ;-). We were also fortunate enough to speak with Alois one on one and talk about which cars he drives and plans for the Ruf Company. It was really a once in a lifetime day. I was absolutely awe struck the whole time. ( and i suppose this officially makes this a blog... never planned it that way, but whatever... dont expect other entries if you're reading this, and i know at least someone is.. I've been getting weird hits from Connecticut and other places, not just random pings like the ones that I get from bots in china, these ones actually browse around.)

Again with the cheesy incremental versions. This time I changed it from a three column layout to a two and hence moved the frames around. Sure is easy to do that with CSS, only took a coupla seconds... Anyways, I did it 'cause I dont think the 3 column looked very good with as little actual content as there.

Ok, I'm calling this version 3.1, I consolidated the CSS stuff into one style sheet to save space and simplify coding. This whole open source thing is making me miss Dreamweaver's library items. CSS is helping the transition, though.
You may have noticed that I'm also trying to lighten the page. I cleaned the CSS stuff a bit, and cleaned a lot of the HTML that had been all mucked up from use of bad WYSIWYG editors. I'm just sick of all these processor/bandwidth/everything heavy pages so mines basically just text. It can be read by anything that can read CSS (I believe), you dont even need to have images, as there is only one and its just for 'flair' ;-). So while sacrificing 6.4kb for style, this is about as light as the page can get, unless I come up with something REALLY clever.
I also thought of trying to do some sort of PHP thing for the image galleries, but instead I decided to just go with basic HTML and autogenerate them with igal to save time.

Version 3 of the page is now up. I changed it over from tables to CSS style sheets and changed completely over from Dreamweaver and Photoshop to Nvu and other open source utilities. Saves me from illegally using software ;-).
